Bobby Gordon, owner of Fella Gentlemen’s Hairdressing in Canterbury, received divine inspiration for his Christmas window display while sitting in traffic. “I suddenly started chuckling to myself as I had a vision of the three barbers in my Folkestone shop as the Three Wise Men. It kind of spiraled from there. The next minute I was on Amazon buying the outfits,” says Bobby. It took some convincing to get all the staff involved but Fella’s new window display came together with the help of a professional photographer friend, a few beers and a narrator reading the Nativity story to get everyone in the mood. Brilliantly the Angel is actually called Angel and he is never far from a ring light (halo) anyway. Bobby played Joseph, his wife Julia is Mary, barbers Alex, Jason and Georgina are the three wise men, Holly and Sam are shepherds, Nick is the donkey, Dec is the star and the baby Jesus is the shop mascot, Dennis the dog. The Wisemen brought gifts of American Crew styling products.
The image was blown up and hung in Canterbury shop window winning Gold in the Canterbury Window Christmas Display competition. Bobby says “It was fun to do and we’ve had a great reaction from customers!”
