Huddlestone scores a win for Cancer Research

After scoring for Tottenham in 2011 Tom Huddlestone accepted a challenge to raise?money for charity by not getting another haircut until he scored again. Little did he?know he was heading for a 32-month goal drought and when he finally hit the net at?the end of December he had raised ?55,000 for Cancer Research UK, more donations?poured in once word of his challenge hit the news and the total is well on its way to?the ?75,000 target. While physio Rob Price gave him an impromptu snip on the pitch,?Tom arranged for a proper and well-deserved haircut back at the KC Stadium. In?full view of the watching media, Tom?s very patient barber Lance Lowe travelled up?from London to tackle nearly three years of untrimmed afro and soon returned the?premiership star to his former well-groomed self. Although for a while he thought?the challenge was a jinx on his usual goal-scoring prowess, he has no regrets and is?grateful to all the players and supporters who have donated money to such a worthy?cause. Tom?s hope is that other footballers will take up this challenge and that with?his new haircut; he?ll again discover his scoring boots. You can still donate at?justgiving.com/huddlefro
