New luxury Men’s Hair Salon Says ‘Thank You’ to NHS Workers

To mark the opening of it’s first high street site in Chapel Allerton, Kidson is offering complimentary first appointments to NHS workers, in recognition of the hard work they do and the well-documented challenges they continue to face.

The offer is valid subject to availability, for NHS workers who can present their NHS ID card and live in or around Chapel Allerton, until the end of February 2023. Those taking advantage of the offer can make a voluntary donation at the salon, with all proceeds going to NHS Charities Together. Kidson, a men’s hairdessers with salons in the David Lloyd Clubs in Leeds and Cheadle, offers a luxury salon experience for men, stepping away from the traditional barber shop ’10 minute visit’, and is dedicated to raising the standards in barbering.

The new salon at 118 Gledhow Valley Road, has been fitted out with opulent décor, stylish seating and even boasts a bar for customers to enjoy a leisurely drink before and during their appointment. Kidson has been operating for five years, and now the company is venturing into the high street market, bringing a touch of indulgence to the usual men’s hairdressing offering. Kidson men’s stylists are handpicked to guarantee customers the best experience and services are tailored to each individual. Paul Carrigan, owner of Kidson, says: “For many men, a visit to the barber is a rush job to squeeze in on a Saturday morning but we try to encourage our clients to set aside more time to give themselves a treat. Our client base is professional men looking for a first-class hairdressing experience where they can take some much-needed time out from their hectic lives. We recognise that NHS workers are very much at the top of the list of people who deserve a bit of ‘me-time’, so we’re delighted to introduce our services to men working in the NHS for free – if they want to make a voluntary donation to NHS Charities Together, we’ll pass it on.” Paul continues: “Our salons are clean, uncluttered and many of our customers see them as a haven where they can get away from it all for half a hour or so, longer if they choose to stop for a complimentary ice cold beer or a warming cup of coffee!”

The salon group’s name, Kidson, has a special story – it was Paul’s grandfather’s name who was in the Yorkshire Regiment, and is also the middle name of one of Paul’s daughters.
Whilst first class customer service and exceptional men’s hairdressing are top of the Kidson team’s priorities, the salon group also works hard to ensure its sites are as sustainable as possible. The salons have energy saving bulbs throughout, ecoheads on taps to reduce water consumption without compromising on client experience, they use 100% recyclable packaging, cruelty free products, biodegradable towels and eco-friendly cleaning products.
