The highlights from BarbersRide 2020

barbersride 2020 highlights

On the 8th August a gang of crazy, fun-loving, barbering biker-mad chums came together for BarbersRide 2020, embarking on an epic journey around the UK to fundraise for the Make-A-Wish children’s charity. Here’s the highlights!

This year (their 4th year) presented itself with obvious challenges and against all the odds, 28 bikers enjoyed the ride of their lives, made great new friendships along the journey and raised much needed funds for children with life debilitating illnesses.

BarbersRide 2020 was a five day journey of adventure, camaraderie, barbering, biking and fund-raising. United in their shared passion for bikes and barbering, the BarbersRide crew took to their wheels for a memory-making tour around the UK that will stay with them for a life-time. BarbersRide was the brainchild of a group of barber and biker buddies – their shared passion for barbering and motorbikes was the catalyst to planning an annual 5-day UK road-trip adventure.

The event has previously raised £39k for London’s Great Ormond Street, Liverpool’s Alder Hey children’s hospitals and Make-A-Wish charity and this year they smashed targets with funds currently over £16,000 and more donations still expected!

A spokesperson from BarbersRide says: “Make-A-Wish grant special wishes for sick children when they are most in need and bring positivity and happiness in times of distress.  This year, it was more important than ever to raise much needed funds for the charity.”

He went on to explain:“They currently have over 2,000 wishes waiting for children around the UK and we wanted to do everything we could to help them.”

BarbersRide are forever grateful for the incredible support from our sponsors, our riders and the host barber shops who have all been extremely generous and worked hard to fund raise even when the odds were against them.

The ride has become as much about the journey (this year’s breath-taking views as we travelled through the Breckon Beacons were unbelievably invigorating and grounding) as the evenings spent enjoying the company of our industry peers at some of the UK’s most in-demand barbershops. After intense and gruelling journeys through beautiful British countryside during one of the hottest weeks of the year,  the bikers arrived in force each night for action-packed outdoor get togethers! They appreciated the hospitality at The Company Of Master Barbers Southport; 6 Hub, Llangollen; Bonds Barbershop, Bournemouth; The Heartbreak Club Barbershop, Leigh-On-Sea and Gilly’s Barbershop, Baildon who have also worked tirelessly to raise money for the charity.

Thanks also goes to the key sponsors of the event: Captain Fawcett, Reuzel, Hard Grind, Barbicide and Eighty One Power Drink. Associate sponsors included Wahl, Kent Brushes, Lind Harley Davidson and Upper Cut Deluxe.
