East Durham College’s hair and beauty team cleaned up at the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists (AHT) Regional Heats, held at the Federation Brewery in Gateshead.
Competing against 12 other colleges from across the North East, EDC students took part in timed, intense competitions against other hair and beauty contestants. Among the successes, Jess Filby took second place in Gents Commercial Freestyle designs. Lucy Entwistle, Eleanor Holdcroft, Jack Angus, Victoria Heaton, Lauren Oliver and Chloe Evans won first place in the highly-competitive Team Event.
Students who win at the regionals get the opportunity to move on to the National Competitions, held later this year in Blackpool. You can find out more about East Durham College’s range of hair courses here.
