JG Barbers of Beeston, Nottingham are fundraising for Movember, the charity that raises awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's suicide. The barbershop is keen to shine a light on mental health support so throughout the month of November, the team are running a series of initiatives to raise money and offer support to the charity.
Director / co owner Elliott Coxon explains:
"Since the pandemic, many people have struggled both financially and mentally. As barbers we're a welcome ear to our clients – we don't judge or pass opinion on their issues. We help people out on a daily basis by listening but we also know the welcome boost that a fresh trim and a craft beer to go can bring!
With this in mind we have realised that life is a lot rosier for us than most, particularly at the moment.
We have decided to launch a campaign to support the Movember Foundation this year.
We are currently designing a ‘Moustache Menu’ that clients can choose from during the last week of October and throughout November. There are designs such as The Bronson, The Ron Burgandy, The Poirot!"
Any clients who book in for a ‘beard trim’ then opt to have a Mo style instead, will receive a free moustache wax and sticker courtesy of our main supplier Uppercut Deluxe. Most importantly, all money made from these services will be donated to the Movember Foundation.
The barbershop has also teamed up with other local businesses, such as The Beeston Brownie Co, Greenhood Coffee & Totally Brewed, for a huge giveaway.
Elliott adds: "Although we're not in partnership, sponsored or licensed with Movember, we are doing this ‘in support’ of Movember, as we want to help those out that really need it right now."
