Matrix Ambassador Christian Wiles was crowned International Modern Barber of the Year with his latest stunning men’s hair collection.
Christian, who has an eponymous salon in Northampton, was a finalist in the International Modern Barber of the Year category at the Australian Modern Barber Awards 2022.
Judged by peers on the other side of the world, the competition recognises the best barbers in the Australian industry and showcases the talent and excellence from across the world. Not only did Christian enter his images, he also had to submit an entry detailing his technical skills and creative ability.
A glittering awards ceremony took place in Melbourne, where Christian was announced as the winner for his collection which combined traditional barbering techniques with fashion-forward styling.
Christian, who is also a finalist for Eastern Hairdresser of the Year at this year’s British Hairdressing Awards, said: “I’m thrilled and honoured to have won the International Modern Barber of the Year award. Men’s hair is a real passion for me and for my work to be recognised by a panel of judges some 10,000 miles away is a great achievement and I’m delighted to be flying the flag for the British hair and barbering industry.”
