Huge Success for Hair and Beauty Charity Golf Day

The hair and beauty industry came together in a remarkable display of camaraderie and generosity on Tuesday 13 June at the second highly anticipated Hair and Beauty Charity & HBSA Golf Day, raising over £6,000 to help our colleagues who have fallen on the hardest of times.

Hosted at the breathtaking Hellidon Lakes Golf Resort in Daventry, this exceptional event featured 13 teams representing some of the industry's most renowned organisations, all joining forces to raise funds for the Hair and Beauty Charity.

The participating teams included industry giants HBSA, KAO, Schwarzkopf Professional, Wella Professionals, Salon Distribution Concepts, Procare, K18, Barkers, Salonology, L’Oréal Professionnel, Create Images, Alan Howard and The Gallery Hairdressing, showcased their golfing skills throughout the day. With friendly competition and a shared commitment to supporting their industry, the event was a tremendous success.

A three course meal and award ceremony followed the golf, where KAO Corporation’s Grant Cooper claimed the Best Individual prize and also won Longest Drive. KAO's exceptional teamwork also secured them the coveted Best Team award, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional, in memory of Peter Belcher. Procare’s Chris Burridge won the Nearest the Pin competition on Hole 18, winning a £500 Selfridges voucher, and Barker’s Chris Barker clinched the Nearest the Bin challenge, displaying his remarkable accuracy at chipping a ball made of hair foils into a 'Recycle My Salon' bin.

Lorenzo Colangelo from The Gallery generously donated a pair of Chelsea match tickets for any game this season, which were successfully auctioned during the event, with Peter Van Agnew from the Hair & Beauty Suppliers Association securing the tickets for £500.

The Hair and Beauty Charity & HBSA Golf Day's success would not have been possible without the tremendous support of all participants and the generous sponsors; KAO Corporation, Schwarzkopf Professional, Wella Professionals, Professional Beauty Group, Phillip Rogers, AJC93, Rainbow Room International, Denman Professional, Procare, and The Gallery’s Lorenzo Colangelo.

Through the combined efforts and generosity of everyone involved, the event generated an outstanding total of over £6,000, which will directly benefit the beneficiaries of the Hair and Beauty Charity. This substantial contribution will provide crucial support to individuals and families facing hardship within the industry, ensuring they receive vital financial resources during these challenging times.

Natalie Booker, charity Manager said, “The support and generosity from this year’s participating teams and sponsors has been truly overwhelming. Over the last year the Charity has seen a 180% increase in calls for help, so the funds raised from the Golf Day will enable us to continue our vital work and make a real difference to the lives of our colleagues in the industry that need our help. We are grateful to everyone who contributed and continue to be blown away by the incredible unity and compassion within our hair and beauty community."
