Why Enter?

Shop Interior celebrates all the hard work you’ve put into making your space stand out. Are you particularly proud of your reception area? Do you think your styling stations are superior? Perhaps you’ve paid close attention to detail when it comes to all the small things? Whatever it is, we want to hear about it. All entries must be submitted online, so no need to worry about printing and posting.

Derek Shortall, owner of Shorties – winner of Shop Interior at the Modern Barber Awards 2023 – shared: “It’s incredible. It means so much to me because so much work went into the shop. I am so, so happy. We are a small team so where we take it from here is endless – the project has only just begun. So, I’m excited to see what we can tie in next year.”

David Sturgeon and Valeria Berrazueta, the Directors behind 2022’s winning barbershop, shepherds, said: “Winning was a big achievement for shepherds as we wanted to bring to Birmingham a space where people can relax and have a great haircut. The customer journey has always been at the heart of our brand and having a great space for our clients to enjoy has been key to our success. It is great to have all of our design efforts recognised with this award as we wanted to set the bar high in the industry and focus on quality rather than quantity. The shop was designed thinking of the city and its independent community, we wanted to show how great Birmingham is and the great potential it has for entrepreneurs.”

Top Tips

David and Valeria also advise: “Be genuine and ensure your concept is close to your heart and values. Make sure that it suits your clientele and following as you will be fulfilling their expectations.”

Something else to consider when completing your entry is providing evidence – this is particularly key for Best Shop Interior, as while hearing about your design is great, the judges need to be able to see it in all its glory.

Criteria – If you have more than one barbershop, please focus your entry on just one location. No mix and match!
