Jason Johnson has been appointed as Ambassador for OSMO. Jason began his barbering career following seven years in the army. Travelling the world and working hard alongside fellow army colleagues, Jason’s passion for hair cutting came from spending time watching YouTube videos on clipper cuts to learn how to keep his own hair clean and tidy for show parades. Soon, his army friends were asking him to cut their hair to ensure they also passed regulations. When the time came to de-list, Jason realised his love of hair cutting could become a career and he enrolled in barbering course in London.
Initially working from his own summerhouse, Jason’s clientele quickly grew from word of mouth and when he and his hairdressing-trained wife married, they decided to take the business to the next level and open a shop.
The Angry Barber opened in 2019 and is now based in Elgin, Moray in Scotland. With a booking-only system, clientele can expect excellent hair cutting – and colouring, too. Jason’s wife, Lizzy Johnson, works regularly in the shop and her experience in colouring enabled Jason to learn his bleaching and vibrant colour techniques. Having previously won Scottish Barber of the Year at the UK Hair & Beauty Awards, Jason is a regular at the Great British Barber Bash shows, having also presented both on the OSMO stand and main stage arenas.
Jason’s style of barbering has evolved into him creating his own fading system; his technique is in demand at the shows. With a creative style, his love of clipper and scissor work comes into play with his unique fading finishes. Having used OSMO in his shop for several years; both his team and customers quickly became fans of the range. "It’s a fantastic range that has something for everyone really. This is a great opportunity to work closer with the OSMO team. My go-to products are Matte Clay Extreme (it smells unbelievable!) – it’s a great blow-dry product that gives a great, workable finish – alongside the Matt Sea Salt Spray, which gives unreal texture. I’ll often cocktail them for longer hair styles to get that textured hold," Jason shares.
"Jason Johnson is going to be a great asset to the OSMO Family; his passion and enthusiasm for social media and education is a perfect fit for the brand. Jason loves working with vivid colour, and with colour becoming more popular in the barbering community, it’ll be great to see how this area of his role progresses. Exciting times ahead for sure," explains OSMO Senior Brand Manager, Sinéad McLaughlin.
OSMO has been growing it's ambassador family, with barber Kyle Ross also being appointed.
