Calling all educators! Best Educator at the Modern Barber Awards is about highlighting the fantastic education of an academy, individual or shop that best delivers superior standard skills into the hands of new and experienced barbers. We want to hear about the qualifications, methods and success rates that are helping to protect our industry standards.
If you feel you have what it takes to win in this highly competitive category, there is still time to impress our judges by entering Educator at the Modern Barber Awards 2025 — entries are open until 5pm on 21 February 2025.
Who Can Enter?
This category is open to shops with a robust training policy, training academies and freelance educators.
How To Enter?
Tell us about your business and the role that training plays in commercial success, describe your education and how you ensure that the relevant standards of training are met, and provide a testimonial from a student/apprentice or employee that has completed education with you.
“Keep your answers clear and concise, no waffle allowed! Provide anecdotal and numerical evidence. Lots of examples and evidence please! Provide good quality high res images, as they might end up in print in Modern Barber," advises Lizzi Brady, Head of Awards Management at the Professional Beauty Group.

There are many reasons you should enter the Modern Barber Awards, but one standout reason is the opportunities it presents you with. Josh Lamonaca, MENSPIRE Academy, winner of Best Educator at the Modern Barber Awards 2024, commented on his win: “This will only give us more confidence to continue to do what we love doing in the industry that we love being a part of.”

Mike Taylor, winner of Best Business Leader in 2021, has shared his top tips on entering, helping to set you up for success at the Modern Barber Awards 2025. He says: “Take your time on your entry, have fun with it and really enjoy explaining what you do and what you have in place. Entering competitions should really make you feel proud of what you have achieved so far and what you could do in the future to improve your business.”
