Graham Clarke, CEO of Murdock London, was recently invited to join Noel McDermott’s Wellbeing Show on YouTube. Noel is a mental health expert, presenter and keynote speaker who founded the Wellbeing Show and ground-breaking mental wellness service Mental Health Works.

Graham is passionate about men’s mental health and pioneered Murdock London’s commitment to mental health first aid training for each of their barbers. During this in-depth interview, Graham shares his belief that men’s mental health support should be accessible for all and especially where men naturally gather.

Murdock London barbers are trained in active listening and signposting to national or local services wherever they feel there is a need. Noel commented: “The idea of having psychologically-informed barbering services is extraordinarily brilliant.” Graham added: “It’s so important, it’s a part of our DNA. I can honestly say that every person in the team, from front-of-house to the shop floor, and people involved in the development of the brand, have all been touched by mental health in some way – either directly or indirectly. So, we know it, we see it, we understand it and we take it very seriously.”

Other touchpoints during Graham’s interview included diversity, tolerance and choosing to live his truth. Graham shares his background in health and beauty and how his journey brought him to his global role leading the Murdock London brand. Graham took the opportunity to shine a light on just how impactful a barber is on their customers and the positive way their skills and interactions uplift and inspire.
