Prime Minister announces reopening date for barbershops IT'S OFFICIAL! Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that barbershops and hairdressers in England will be allowed to reopen from the 4 July. Wales will follow on 13 July and Scottish barbershops and salons can reopen from 15 July.

The two metre social distancing rule will also be relaxed to 'one metre plus' and barbers and hairdressers will have to wear visors.

Along with barbershops and hair salons, restaurants and pubs, will also be allowed to reopen.

Boris announced to the House of Commons:

'The number of new coronavirus infections is declining between 2-4% every day ...

"We don't believe, currently, that there is a second wave coming that will overwhelm the NHS and he COVID alert level is down from 4 to 3."

He continued to say that the administrations in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales are all responsible for their own restrictions.

The government is expected to publish guidance on how businesses can avoid face-to-face contact.

We wait with bated breath!
