Tributes Paid to Barbering Talent Lee Dixon

We’re saddened to hear the news that award winning barber, Lee Dixon has died suddenly at 29 years old.

Lee was a talented barber and educator at Mike Taylor Education and achieved great success both in his stage work as well as at his Bond's barbershop in Wareham.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends, who have since set-up a fundraising page to support his young daughter, Remi. The fundraising page shared: "Lee educated hundreds of young apprentices through the Great British Academy and Mike Taylor Education, enabling them to progress into the world of barbering. All his students adored him and he became well known in the industry. From 2016 to 2022, Lee won multiple awards throughout the British Barbers Association, British Master Barbers, The Barber Awards and appeared on stage in London, Scotland and Ireland as an educator.

A pinnacle of his career was opening his own barbershop in 2019. Bond's of Wareham became Lee's pride and joy. A place where people could come and share their stories, worries and troubles. His love stretched far and wide and he would always be there with a cheeky smile and a wave."

Mike Taylor Education paid tribute on their Facebook page with these touching words:

"We cannot quite believe that we are writing this post but we have lost an absolutely incredible passionate educator and friend. Lee loved the barbering industry. He loved showing off his passion and helping educate barbers and hairdressers to learn new skills. Lee loved going on stage and showcasing his skills. Nothing was too much for Lee, he was so hard working and would not flinch at a seven day week. He would go the extra mile for all of his students. Lee always had 100 percent positive feedback from his students that all adored him and found him very caring and easy to learn from. Lee had a skill of making people feel comfortable which in turn relaxed them and they got so much from their education from him. We feel truly blessed that you are part of our team and we are proud to call you our friend! We are thinking of his family and friends in this devastating time. RIP Lee Dixon you will be in our hearts and minds forever." They also shared this video highlighting just some of Lee's achievements.
