The first-ever Raw Talent Barbering Competition, sponsored by VTCT and brought to you by Mike Taylor Education took place on Monday 5 July – and we crowned the winners live at BARBERFEST in Brighton.
The competition was fierce and drew quite the crowd. Our judges were amazed at the quality, expertise on show – particularly as most finalists had only been barbering professionally for less than two years. Read the full list of finalists here.
The competition was split up into three categories of barbering abilities and training standards – Freshers, Graduates and Post-Graduates and we had a maximum of ten finalists in each category.

Freshers category
Runner up: Daniel Hughes

Post Graduate category
Runner up: Deone Luke
Winner: Ryan Benfold
Runners up received a medal and our winners received a trophy, cash prize of £250 and Dark Stag goodies.
