BarbersRide have gained even more support for 2023, with Denman Professional announcing that they have become one of the official sponsors.
Each year BarbersRide organises a group motorcycle tour on a planned route to fundraise, and for 2023 their charity of choice is the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Their planned route will take them around coast of Ireland from 5 to 10 August.
The ‘Make-a-Wish’ Foundation has a special place in the heart of Denman Chairman John Rainey MBE. Back in 2000 Denman sponsored a child through the Make-a-Wish Foundation; that child was James Baker, a boy suffering from a life limiting condition which causes tumours and a series of complex medical conditions. James had just one wish, which was to stay in a hotel in Belfast. John Rainey wanted to do more, so when he discovered that James had both a passion for the Belfast Giants Ice Hockey team and painting, John arranged for VIP tickets to a Giants Hockey game and coaching from two local artists too.
James Baker is now 33 and has gone on to be a thriving artist as well as creating designs to decorate Denman brushes – he even has his own private box donated by the Belfast Giants Ice Hockey Team to protect him from infection.
BarbersRide founder Xavier Berrell dropped by Denman HQ in Bangor with some fellow bikers to meet James and say a personal thank you to the Denman team for sponsoring. In addition, Denman will be providing VIP tool kits for the riders and brushes for all the goody bags at each visiting barbershop at each stage of the ride.
Have you heard that entries for Denman Stage Star 2023 are now open? You can find out everything you need to know about the competition, including how to enter and the prizes up for grabs, here.
