Modern Barber Awards Entries Open

Best Training Award is Open for Educators Everywhere!

An industry is only as strong as the skills of its people, which is why good quality and on-going training is so vital to the future of barbering.

The Modern Barber Awards recognises the importance of education with its Best Training category, sponsored by VTCT.  If you think your salon or academy has delivered excellent education over the last year, there’s still time to enter — the closing date is 22 April.

Last year’s winner was Mike Taylor Education, a multi-award-winning barbering academy that has, over the past decade, specialised in building a well-rounded foundation to help support the building of successful careers.

Whether your business is a dedicated training academy or a barbershop with a proven track record for excellence in education, we want to hear from you. You could be training the next generation of barbers, offering experienced professionals ongoing education or a mixture of both.

Learning never stops in this ever-changing industry of ours, so we’re as interested in hearing how you offer specialist training for experienced barbers as we are in learning about the ways you support the next generation of barbering pros.

We want to hear about the qualifications, methods and success rates that are helping to protect our industry standards and ensure barbering remains a highly respected profession.

Mike Taylor advises: “Take your time on your entry, have fun with your entry really enjoy explaining what you do and what you have in place. Entering competitions should really make you feel proud of what you have achieved so far and what you could do in the future to improve your business.”
