An industry is only as strong as the skills of its people, so good quality and on-going training is vital to the future of barbering. Which is why the Modern Barber Awards recognises the importance of education with its Best Training category, sponsored by American Crew.
This category is about highlighting the training either of an Academy or a barbershop that best delivers superior standard skills into the hands of new and experienced barbers. If you think your salon or academy has delivered excellent education over the last year, then now is the time to enter – the closing date is Friday 5 May 2023.
You could be training the next generation of barbers, offering experienced professionals ongoing education, or a mixture of both, we want to hear from you. Learning never stops in this ever-changing industry of ours, so we’re as interested in hearing how you offer specialist training for experienced barbers as we are in learning about the ways you support the next generation of barbering pros.
We want to hear about the qualifications, methods, and success rates that are helping to protect our industry standards and ensure barbering remains a highly respected profession.
Last year’s winner was Milton Keynes College, and speaking of the win, said: “We were so excited and proud to have won the Modern Barber Award for Best Training. It’s a reflection of the hard work and commitment shown by our talented teaching staff, who strive to provide the best learning experience they can for their students.”
2021 winner, Mike Taylor of Mike Taylor Education advises: “Take your time on your entry, have fun with your entry, and really enjoy explaining what you do and what you have in place. Entering competitions should really make you feel proud of what you have achieved so far and what you could do in the future to improve your business.”
