Jim Shaw's Trending Hair Looks From London Fashion Week
We sat down with award winning men’s hairdresser, Jim Shaw, to discuss his trending hair looks from London Fashion Week. Jim talked us through the hair looks from the catwalk, the styles that stood out and the ones he thinks will be key trends as we head into the autumn/winter season...

Robyn Lynch – shorter cuts with fringes

There were a variety of different hair looks shown on the A/W Robyn Lynch LFW show. However, I did notice a few of the models sporting much shorter hair looks teamed with a cropped fringe. This is a great look for men who are looking for a very youthful and trendy cut that will show off their facial features. This is also a fantastic look as it can be styled both straight and smooth or messier for an edgy finish and men can even experiment by fading the cut slightly at the sides for more of a statement look. It’s important that as a hairdresser you use scissors on the sides to help taper these slightly for softness and to avoid the hair going too ‘bowl’ like.

Edward Crutchley – headwear and sleek styles

At Edward Crutchley we noticed a lot of headwear in the form of hats, particularly beanie hats that we will start to see becoming popular as we head into the colder months! However, another prominent style on the men's walking the catwalk was super sleek, slicked back, wet look hair. This is a great style for winter party season who want to try something different on their hair and look sophisticated whilst doing so. It’s all about products when it comes to this look and saturating the hair with product that will give the hair hold, as well as mirror like shine.

JW Anderson – relaxed vibes

At JW Anderson there was a reoccurring hair look theme – relaxed vibes! Many of the hair looks appeared unstyled, with the models embracing their natural wavy hair texture. This is a look I personally love and that I have noticed becoming more and more popular over recent years. Using a simple styling product like a sea salt spray is a great way for hairdressers and barbers to enhance client’s natural hair looks and give them further body and texture whilst still maintaining a relaxed feel. I also love to use a matte pomade on shorter cuts to break up the hair and give it a messier, effortless finish.
