Perfect for those looking to grow their barbershop and expand their skillset, the NHBF has created an innovative series of business support resources on the PIVOT POINT LAB platform, entitled Skills Zone, that can be accessed by members anytime, anywhere via any device.
Skills Zone will host a series of easy-to-follow guidelines and lessons in line with the NHBF Professional Code of Conduct. Launching first under the Time to Shine theme is a resource, created in partnership with Pivot Point, that focuses on the essential core areas that all salons have to navigate to protect their clients and business.
Lessons include:
Richard Lambert, NHBF chief executive says, “Running a hair or beauty salon or barbershop business can feel very complicated, with lots of things that need to be in place to allow professionals to concentrate on building a client base. The launch of the Skills Zone, which can be found in the Member Benefits area on NHBF.co.uk, offers free access to the NHBF School on PIVOT POINT LAB. LAB provides newly developed professional standards resources to master the knowledge required to protect your clients and your business, in a way that fits in with your busy schedules.”
Janet Coates, PIVOT POINT LAB, Customer Experience & Engagement manager says, “We are excited about this collaboration. Pivot Point LAB is a great platform to provide online educational support to the NHBF Members in the most modern and easily accessible way”.
This development of the Skills Zone is part of the NHBF’s response to their independently commissioned report ‘Careers at the cutting edge: tackling the skills crisis in the hair & beauty sector’ which highlighted the current challenges that the sector is experiencing. It also includes the recent launch of the Shines On podcasts, hosted by Brooke Evans, including interviews with Mark Woolley, Keri Blue, Dom Lehane (interviewing the interviewer!), beauty journalist Keeks Reid, Lions’ Collective Tom Chapman, salon coach Jessica Crane and founder of the award-winning Black Skin Directory, Dija Ayodele.
Time to Shine’s videos and guides are easily accessible via your phone or tablet and will be key in helping your business to grow to the next level so ensuring its future success, even more necessary in these turbulent times. Sign-up online to the new NHBF Skills Zone.
